It is believed that the Chinese played a game similar to football, nearly 2500 years ago.
Modern football originated fro England and was brought to India by British forces.

The first world cup trophy was called Jules Rimet cup. The first world cup tournament was held in Uruguay in 1930. It was not held in 1942 and 1946. Brazil has won the world cup a record five times. Italy and West Germany have won three times each.
Indians were invented for the 1950 football world cup. But they were not allowed to take part as they did not wear boots when playing football at that time.

Muldoon/Kastner Lead FFPC Main
This is it. The final week of the FFPC Main Event is coming up and we have a
real battle at the top of the FFPC Main Event Leaderboard. Robert Muldoon
and Philip Kastner, owners of Team HOGS, have a very slim lead over John
Haskell, owner of Syracuse Slappers. How slim of a lead could it be? It is
less than 1 point in fact. Not only that, but there are also four other
teams within 30 points of first place. Other teams in the top 15 could make
a giant leap with a huge week. I bet each of them can smell that 0,000.
You are all so very close. And if any of those teams posts a big 200 point
week, that could very well lock up the 0,000 grand prize for their squad.
Who will take it down? I can’t wait to see.
Here are our top 25 teams after week 15:
1 – HOGS – Robert Muldoon/Philip Kastner – 497.93
2 – SyracuseSlappers – John Haskell – 496.96

4 – The Pump – Mark Pumphrey – 472.95
5 – TERMINATORS – Richard Risinger – 471.36

7 – Proper Sundays – Jack Perkins/Steve Pilapil – 462.35
8 – Guinness Stingers ME – James McGough – 460.93
9 – Classless Highlife Moochers – James Stroud / Steve Saris – 455.58
10 – For Taylar – Dennis Young – 448.98
11 – DraftZone – Mighty MC’s – Ed McCann / Jeff McCann – 446.16
12 – TheDottedLine – m – 445.34
13 – Team Thompson – Don Thompson – 443.88

16 – Hawk and Roll – Ian Ritchie & Mark Deming – 440.16
17 – Liquid Hippos – Greg Morgan – 434.47
18 – Spokanimals I – Dean DeCuir / Kevin Gantner – 431.72
19 – The Hefs – Adam Lazarus/Paul Schroer – 430.11
20 – Jake and Dad – Richard Bilyew – 426.99
21 – Chamlian Tigers – Razmig Dermugerdichian/Danny P – 423.49
22 – FIERCE! – Jeffrey Schmitz (1) – 420.17
23 – Glenneration X -Main Event – Glenn Lowy – 419.27
24 – Dude – Scott Hillstrom – 419.22
25 – Pocket Pool – Steve Nothdurft/Gerald Meloni – 418.62
Team HOGS has a bit more than 0,000 to play for. They currently are in
2nd place in the Playa4LIFE contest behind Proper Sundays. HOGS is the
highest scoring remaining Playa4LIFE entry and could win 20 years of FFPC
Main Event entries if they outscore Proper Sundays by 25.76 points in week
16. Good luck!
Good luck in week 16 in all of your leagues.
Take down some titles FFPC players!
Dave Gerczak
The FootballGuys Players Championship
Haskell’s Syracuse Slappers took down 311 other teams to capture the title. But he had to wait a little longer than anyone had planned to lock up the crown.
The FFPC’s Main Event runs through Week 16 of the NFL season. In most years, the winner is decided after the Monday night game. But this year, a wicked winter storm that blew through Philadelphia forced the NFL to postpone the Eagles-Vikings game until Tuesday. With both RB Adrian Peterson and QB Michael Vick on his roster, Haskell had to sweat out that final 60 minutes before he could call himself champion.
“I found out the Eagles-Vikings game was postponed and it was like a punch in the gut,” Haskell said. ”I had to wait another couple days knowing that my duo of Peterson and Vick was going to be the difference between winning or not.”
It all worked out for him though. Peterson and Vick both scored 4th quarter TDs that sealed the deal for the Syracuse Slappers. Haskell’s squad finished 28 points clear of the rest of the field.
“After that score, it was craziness and mayhem in my house,” Haskell remembers.
But he kept his title push under wraps for the longest of times.
“I really didn’t tell anyone where I stood until after Week 15. I didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, especially the wife’s.”
“Going into the Week 16 Sunday games, I told my family and a few close friends where I stood and what the situation was and they were all with me for that Tuesday night game.”
Haskell’s championship season was a result of both rock-solid drafting and astute waiver wire management.
He kicked off his draft by selecting his top-ranked RB, Adrian Peterson, 3rd overall. After scooping up WR Brandon Marshall in the 2nd-round, Haskell locked-up an elite TE in the 3rd when he nabbed Jason Witten. In the FFPC, TEs are awarded 1.5 points per reception, compared to just 1 point per reception for RBs and WRs.
“The 3rd round is really important in the FFPC,” Haskell explained. ”If there is a top-4 TE left, then I feel like you must grab him.”
Haskell continued to build a dominant group of WRs, adding Hakeem Nicks in the 4th-round and Pierre Garcon in the 6th. In between those two guys, he went with QB Tom Brady.
But Haskell’s best pick came in the 8th-round. That’s when he nabbed RB Darren McFadden, whose production finally matched his talent this season.
“I gambled and only had 2 RB until then and was really hoping that this was his year,” Haskell said. ”Thankfully it was.”
McFadden set career-highs in 2010 with 1,157 rushing yards, 507 receiving yards, and 10 total TDs. He finished 8th among all RBs in FFPC scoring.
It was a nearly picture-perfect draft for Haskell, but it might have been a move that he made after Week 1 that vaulted him to a championship.
The FFPC uses a blind-bidding system for free-agency. Teams receive ,000 in blind-bidding dollars to spend on free-agents throughout the entire season. Bids are placed without knowing how much other teams are bidding. Free-agents are awarded to the team with the highest bid.
And after Week 1, Haskell decided to pony up 6 for Eagles QB Michael Vick.
“My waiver strategy is pretty simple,” Haskell said. ”I try to find a player after the first couple weeks that looks to be breaking out and spend a good portion of my money on him. It’s kind of a hit or miss thing.”
Safe to say it was a hit this year.
Vick went on a tear, piling up 30 total TDs in his next 12 games. He was arguably the most valuable player in fantasy football this season, and he definitely played a huge role in Haskell’s championship run.
“The level of competition in the FFPC Main Event is fierce and winning the overall championship is a great accomplishment,” founder and co-owner Alex Kaganovsky said. ”John displayed excellent drafting and in-season management skills to complete the task. We’re very proud to have him as the 2010 FFPC Champion, joining Chad Schroeder (2008) and Don Metter (2009).”
Although there are plenty of other high stakes fantasy football leagues out there, Haskell plays exclusively in the FFPC. He’s been playing FFPC events from day one and is one its biggest supporters.
“I play in the FFPC and only the FFPC for a few different reasons,” Haskell explained. ”First, the integrity and character of owners Dave Gerczak and Alex Kaganovsky is second to none. Secondly, the customer service is second to none. One name is all I need to say: Chris Lambert! Lastly, the money is held in escrow. I have been lucky enough to cash in every year of the FFPC and my league checks have been in my mailbox before Christmas. This year, my Grand Prize check was in my possession on January 13th — only 2 weeks after the Main Event was decided. That is awesome!”
Gerczak added, “John has always been a very skilled fantasy player, and this season he showed it in dominating fashion in the FFPC Main Event Championship round. Just like winning the Super Bowl in the NFL, you are always be remembered as a Champion. The FFPC is honored to have John as our 2010 Main Event Champion, now and forever.”
You can bet that Haskell will be back in 2011 to defend his title.
“This has been a life changing experience and I will never forget that Eagles-Vikings game for as long as I live.”
The 2009 Fantasy Football Players Championship, FFPC, “ Pros vs. Joes Draft Challenge” is one of the premier fantasy football contests in the country. With the help of Fantasy Mojo. Com, the FFPC has created the ultimate showdown, pitting a contingent of the industry’s most reputable experts – the “Pros” – against some of the most accomplished high-stakes fantasy footballers – the “Joes.”
The contest is comprised of 72 teams – half Pros and half Joes. Teams were broken down into 6 separate 12-team leagues, with each league holding its own draft. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams, but the overall winner is the team with the highest point total among all 72 contestants. Along with all sorts of cash prizes, fantasy football website subscriptions to Draft Sharks, Fantasy Football Trader, and Football Guys, along with free 2010 league entries, that team wins the biggest prize of them all – bragging rights!!
Through 6 weeks of action, the Pros have a decided advantage. Of the 6 leagues, 4 are being led by a Pro. And it’s a Pro who holds the overall lead. Sorry Joe!
That would be Lesters Legends, managed by Ryan Lester. Coming off a huge 217-point week, he’s leading the way with 1,106 total points after 6 weeks. Lester’s Legends is led by QB Matt Schaub, RBs Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice, WRs Roddy White and Donald Driver, and TE Heath Miller. Plus, RBs Pierre Thomas and Laurence Maroney are waiting in the wings.
Sitting just behind Lester’s Legends is another Pro, Fantasy Football Oasis, with 1,084 total points. After a rough Week 1 performance, Oasis has been consistently posting excellent performances. QB Peyton Manning, RB Ray Rice, WR Andre Johnson, and TE Owen Daniels have a lot to do with that. Owning RB Rashard Mendenhall and his new starting job doesn’t hurt either.
In 3rd place overall we find our first Joe. It’s Just Russ, led by QB Tom Brady, RBs Steve Slaton and Thomas Jones, WR Chad Ochocinco, and TE Heath Miller. It’s a well-balanced team that also includes explosive players like RB DeAngelo Williams and WR Santana Moss.
While another Pro ( Red vs Blue Sports Talk Radio/ Scott Atkins) sits in 4th place, the overall top-10 is split evenly, with 5 Pros and 5 Joes.
Here we go:
1. Lester’s Legends (Pro) 1105.85
2. Fantasy Football Oasis (Pro) 1083.90
3. Just Russ (Joe) 1055.90
4. Red vs Blue Sports Talk Radio (Pro) 1054.10

8. Syracuse Slappers (Joe) 1018.75
9. Fantasy Football Calculator (Pro) 1018.40
10. Novacane (Joe) 1018.05
With 11 weeks still left in the contest, there’s still plenty of time for teams to make their move to the top of the leader board. And there’s plenty of trash talk going on over at the FFPC message board. Head on over right now to check out the banter, all the rosters, and the complete leader board!

The FFPC Playoff Challenge
John Duckworth may or may not have had a decent 2009 fantasy season. But he
has one hell of a post-season when he cashed for ,500 in last year’s FFPC
Playoff Challenge! On just a 0 entry fee, John bested 191 other teams to
take down the big cash. Well, this year the FFPC has gone crazy and
guaranteed the prize payouts right away.
Let’s take a look:

2nd – ,000
3rd – ,500

not make any changes. As NFL teams get knocked out of the playoffs, so will
your players so draft your team accordingly.
5. Each week’s score will be added to your team’s total and the Superbowl
will count as DOUBLE the points. So instead of 1ppr it will be 2ppr, instead
of 6 pts per TD, it will be 12 pts per TD, etc, etc. This is done to create
a little more excitement the last game of the season and give teams a chance
to make up a deficit in the standings. Teams with the highest point total
after the Superbowl will be the winners. In the event of a tie, say #1 and
#2 finishing teams, the 1st & 2nd place prize money will be combined and

Every fan of football will try to gather as much information as they can. There is much to know about this sport that is played in virtually every country on this planet. If you are having trouble finding something you are looking for, then you can also do a search using the word soccer instead of football. This is because the Americans call this sport soccer and many avid fans have a lot of information, live scores posted and fun things like pictures on their sites, but never refer to the sport as football which is a completely different sport there.
Football videos are very popular and it gives everyone the chance to see their favorite players in action or to see a game that was not seen before. This could be local games, older games or even new ones that couldn’t be seen due to work or some other circumstance. There are many websites that provide you with the videos you are looking for, even Championship League games.
News about all that is happening in the sport is also very high in demand by fans. Especially news about the premiership is popular. This is the premiere league of all countries in the UK and football is followed closely by many there. Of course other countries are also very much in love with football and their own teams. One of the most popular football players nowadays is Cristiano Ronaldo. He is originally from Portugal and plays for the national team, but when not playing for the Portuguese he is a major player for the English team Manchester United.
However, other fun things that have to do with football are also important. This includes football wallpapers, a personal avatar that is dressed up in football gear or even video that pertains to this extremely popular sport.
